Mindi Boysen, certified golf fitness specialist, is a recognized professional
with a degree in education and 13 years of experience in the fitness
industry. She is also a nationally certified lifestyle/weight management
consultant, personal trainer, and group fitness instructor who specializes
in functional, pilates-based training.
Her professional experience includes six years on the faculty at Indiana/Purdue
University as a Physical Education Instructor, where she received the
IUPUI Teacher Excellence & Recognition Award in 2000. Mindi has taught
pilates and sports conditioning at several golf clubs, and now manages
her own lifestyle coaching business teaching clients the best way to
keep their bodies strong and healthy while preventing damage or injury
to muscles.
Mindi coaches health-conscious golfers of all skill levels. From players
on the PGA Tour to recreational golfers, she teaches fitness techniques
designed to improve both a player's golf game and overall health. Her
format includes strengthening of the specific muscle groups used in
the golf swing, flexibility exercises, and reinforcement of balance
and stability movements.
Her series of three DVDs, Fit For Golf/Fit For Life, have been in
demand with golf enthusiasts around the country. The popularity of
her first DVD triggered her decision to build on her philosophy: "A
fit golfer is a better golfer." Each DVD takes beginners and skilled
golfers alike to higher levels of golf fitness. Her careful choice
of exercises helps to prevent back and joint damage related to swinging
a club. These videos contain effective pre-game workouts that require
very little time or space and produce the best results with the least
amount of effort. Learn more about Mindi and her DVDs by visiting her
website at www.fitforgolfusa.com.
Mindi won
the 1998 Ms. Indy Lightweight Bodybuilding and Ms. Fitness Indiana
State championships. Since then, she has taught numerous classes ranging
from Yoga and Kickboxing to Seniors Stability/Balance and Obstacle
Course Training. Mindi's love of fitness, coupled with her love of
golf, has been instrumental in the development of this book.

developing membership materials, and seeking promotional opportunities.
Through her affiliation with the AWGA, she has come to understand the
importance of the synergistic relationship among body, mind, and spirit
as a vital component for a player to reach his or her full potential
in golf. The philosophy that "golf is more than swinging a club" has
become apparent as she works in the golf industry and strives to improve
her own golf game.
Her published materials include numerous cover stories for M.D. NEWS,
as well as frequent articles in health and sports publications such
as Arizona Golfer, Golf Today, Golf World, Golf the Desert, Health & Lifestyles
and AZ Health magazines. In addition, she has contributed to several
local periodicals and newspapers.
Mary Ann has extensive experience in the areas of research and writing,
which has been exhibited in a variety of settings and locations around
the country. During her tenure with non-profit organizations such as
the Arthritis Foundation and RSVP program for senior citizens, she
wrote advertising materials and newsletters for their membership. She
was editor of the Business Quarterly, a city government newsletter.
In the late 1990s she added financial communications to her work history,
writing press releases, company overviews and annual reports for an
investor relations firm. Most recently, her experience has incorporated
health-related articles on the subjects of chiropractic care, natural
health supplements, and laser vision correction. Her work has included
promotional pieces, technical explanation of products and procedures,
and human interest stories about physicians and their practices.
The development of this book has called upon Mary Ann's talents and
positive attitude to provide information and inspiration that will
help everyday golfers as well as skilled golfers play their best game.
